Overcoming Challenges: Clearing CA Final After Multiple Attempts

When I began my journey towards becoming a Chartered Accountant (CA), little did I know that it would take me over five attempts to finally clear my final examinations. This experience has been both challenging and rewarding, teaching me invaluable life lessons that have made me stronger and more resilient.

My Journey to CA Final

My path to success was not a smooth one. It took me two attempts to clear my Comptition Test Part 1 (CPT), and three each for Preliminary examination (PCC) and final examination, again in both CPT and PCC. It was not easy to start all over again after failing numerous times, but quitting was never an option. This experience of persistence has made me realize that the journey is as important as the destination.

I attribute my initial failures to a lack of proper coaching. When I realized the subjects, two attempts in CPT and PCC were already gone. Furthermore, even when I had the right understanding, my principal wasted some attempts due to insufficient preparation leaves, extending my articleship by one year. Although I faced continuous failures, I was not in the right mental state to focus properly because before joining CA, I was a district and university topper in my BCOM and MCOM.

Transforming Failure into Strength

Despite the challenges, CA made me strong enough to face any difficulty. It consumed a significant portion of my 10 years of life but also gave me the strength to tackle any challenge. It was not about the number of attempts required to clear the final exams but about the extent of knowledge and practical application one possesses.

I proudly call myself CA RIMA VICKY CHAUHAN, and I advise others to never quit. Instead, try one more time. Most importantly, the journey is about maintaining confidence and commitment. Don’t let the number of attempts define your value. Your confidence and commitment are the keys to success.

Lessons Learned and Future Opportunities

It is not about when you clear your CA-Final or in which attempt. There are individuals who cleared in their first attempt but still struggle to find a job post-qualification. The essential aspects are how you are updated, how you cope with the subjects, and how much knowledge you have at your disposal.

As someone who cleared CA-Final in 7 attempts, I have landed royally placed jobs in prestigious companies such as Accenture and PwC. This experience shows that it all depends on the knowledge you possess. Don't underestimate the struggles that you might face in the beginning, but once you start learning, life will become easier. The number of attempts does not matter if you are willing to learn.

Conclusion

Big corporate houses might ignore candidates with multiple attempts, but once you land your first job, life will be back on track. Don't expect a red carpet even if you clear the exam on your first attempt. There will be challenges, but perseverance and continuous learning will ensure you achieve success.
