Candle Lighting at 9 PM: A Global Symbol of Solidarity Hope

The Nostalgia and Routine of 9 PM Candle Lighting

Exactly this. So many times, we find ourselves delving into the subtle details of our day, trying to piece together the mosaic of moments that made our routine. Today, at 9 pm, it was the lighting of small candles that captured my attention. Exactly this moment, the quiet, ritualistic act of lighting candles that resonates in so many cultures.

One might wonder, why should girls have all the fun? Or perhaps, what’s the significance here? It's beautiful, isn’t it? The act of lighting these candles, a personal choice to bring a little brightness and hope in these troubled times. I had too much fun reflecting on this practice, which has such a profound impact on both individuals and communities.

Literally Forced to Eat Rotoi Before 9 PM

Let me share a personal reflection. I have been literally forced to eat Rotoi before 9 pm. My family was busy praying with lit candles, creating a beautiful yet slightly chaotic scene on the terrace. My mom, with tears in her eyes, was desperately praying for our current situation. This moment highlighted the power of collective efforts in facing challenges together.

With a mixture of tears, exclamations, and prayers, the atmosphere was charged with both sorrow and hope. I asked my mom if I could take a photo of her while lighting the candle. She simply said, "No, Nanna. Come and light the candle and pray in your heart." I stood there with the flickering light, silently praying for my family and loved ones.

The Joy of Sharing

My brother came down, hungry and confused by the unusual quietness. After dinner, I found a photo of a friend's status online, but my phone had some issues, and I couldn’t share it. The photo of my brother, taken to commemorate our shared moment, ended up on his social media instead. This tiny act of sharing brought us all together for a sneak peek of those precious 9 minutes.

As we stood there, gazing at the flickering lights, it became clear that a light can indeed bring strength, power, and happiness to our lives. These candles not only symbolize our fight against the diseases prevalent around us, but they also remind us of our shared humanity and the unity we need to overcome challenges.

The Power of Light in Tough Times

Our Prime Minister, PM Modi ji, urged people to light candles at specific times, as a symbol of solidarity and hope. So, we kept a few remaining Diwali candles on the rooftop railing. These candles, which brought us together, also serve as a reminder that amidst the darkness, there is always a glimmer of light.

As we light these candles, let us stand in solidarity. May this pandemic end soon. In the meantime, let's stay home and stay healthy. Remember, a light can bring strength, power, and happiness. It can also cope with the diseases prevailing in our lives. Each candle lit, each prayer offered, brings us one step closer to overcoming this challenging period.

Thank you for reading this deeply personal reflection. Thank you for sharing this moment with me, and I hope it brought a touch of hope and solidarity to your day.
