An Afternoons Routine: Relaxed Pursuits and Productive Tasks

What are you doing this afternoon?

No serious plans at hand. Here's how my day is likely to unfold: Just now, I returned from school. After a bit of relaxation, I went for a cycle ride. Later, I joined my mom and sister at the marketplace. Barely any time has gone by since then. I am still in the midst of last-minute preparation for an upcoming presentation and a little homework for tomorrow, but I hope to clear some of my current homework before I get busy with other tasks later. That's pretty much it for the afternoon.

Dealing With Power Outages

Unfortunately, I need to wait two hours for the power to be restored due tocheduled load shedding. This routine involves quite a bit of waiting and inactivity. Likely, I will be either lying in bed or sitting in my bedroom, not engaged in any particular activity but simply biding my time until the power returns.

Passing Time Productively

At present, I am listening to Paul Anka and browsing houses on Zillow. I find the act of productively utilizing this down time both calming and engaging. How about you? What are you doing?

Watching Football: A Casual Activity

Right now, I am watching the Houston Texans play against the New York Giants. Typically, I do not watch football, but I must say, the players are quite attractive. This arrangement of watching football makes for an enjoyable means of leisure on a lazy afternoon.

The Battle Against Unhealthy Evening Hunger

One aspect of my daily routine that often causes concern is the evening hunger pang. Most days, around 6 PM, I feel extremely hungry. However, due to work, I often can't cook. Thus, I have to rely on takeout, which is decidedly not the healthiest choice. To combat this issue, I purchased a few sandwich spreads such as tandoori sauce, honey mustard, and spicy chipotle to make nutritious homemade sandwiches whenever my stomach starts to grumble. Last night, I made French toast using these condiments. Today, I enjoyed a satisfying lunch, and I am eager to do the same tomorrow. Thankfully, my dad is out of town, so mom's sabbatical from cooking is convenient, and I can indulge in this meal whenever I please.

Curious to know how my sister masters the art of giving savage replies. Maybe we can learn from each other.
